Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Thursday saw a sharp spike in COVID cases with 73 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours against 45 the previous day.
According to the I & PR department, 44 of the new infections are from quarantine and 29 local contacts. Among them, 11 are children below 18 years of age. The highest of 41 cases has been reported from Khurda.

1. Balangir: 1
2. Cuttack: 4
3. Kendrapada: 1
4. Khurda: 41
5. Nuapada: 6
6. Puri: 6
7. Sambalpur: 1
8. Sundargarh: 3
Besides, 10 from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 14,361 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.50 per cent.
