Bhubaneswar: An actor has lodged a complaint with Lingaraj police here, accusing an Odisha Administrative Officer (OAS) officer, posted as deputy commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of sexually harassing her.
The complaint said that Jogeswar Naik forcefully entered her house and sexually harassed her in front of her brother, mother and niece on Monday. She also accused the BMC official of making a false statement before the PCR staff.
Refuting the allegation, Naik said that the actor had taken Rs 2 lakh loan from him in 2020-21 for her business but is yet to repay it. He further said that he came in contact with her when he started visiting a salon run by her at Bapuji Nagar.
The actor said that she had taken that amount from the official to get a role for the latter’s wife in a video album.
“Two cases have been lodged on the basis of the complaint and counter-complaint and an investigation is underway,” said a police officer.
