Actor Deep Sidhu, Who Was Accused In R-Day Violence In Delhi, Dies In Road Accident

New Delhi: Actor Deep Sidhu, who was arrested in connection with the Republic Day violence in the nation’s capital last year and was out on bail, died in a road accident late Tuesday night.

Sidhu was going from Delhi to Bhatinda when the SUV in which he was travelling hit a trailer truck at 9:30 pm on Wednesday on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway that bypasses Delhi.

Sidhu was arrested by the Delhi Police in February last year in connection with a tractor rally by farmers on Republic Day. The rally snowballed into violence after the protesters reached the Red Fort and attacked policemen.

The farmers were protesting the new farm laws, which were withdrawn by the Centre in November 2021.

He got bail in April last year but was arrested again. He was released on bail again in late April.
