Mumbai: Actor Govinda has been hospitalised after falling unconscious at home on Tuesday night. His friend and legal advisor Lalit Bindal told NDTV that the actor suffered from disorientation and fainted after which he was moved to a private hospital in suburban Juhu.

Govinda (61) was given medicine after a telephonic consultation with his doctor before being shifted to the hospital.

“He was given medicine after consulting a doctor and was admitted to the hospital in emergency at 1 am. He has undergone several tests and is now awaiting the reports,” NDTV has quoted Bindal as saying.

The legal advisor did not divulge further details about Govinda’s condition.

Govinda has been in the news recently for several reasons. In October 2024, he suffered a bullet injury in his leg after misfiring his licensed revolver. The actor was rushed to the hospital with the bullet lodged under his knee. It was extracted after an hour-long surgery.

His manager had then said that Govinda was keeping his licensed revolver inside a cupboard when he dropped the weapon and it went off.

“I was leaving for a show in Kolkata and it was early morning around 5… woh giri aur chal padi (it fell and misfired)… I was stunned and then I saw a fountain of blood coming out,” recalled Govinda after getting discharged from the hospital.

More recently, his relations with his wife has kept Govinda in the news more than any new releases in which he has acted.
