New Delhi: Actor R Madhavan is a proud father.
His son Vedaant Madhavan, a talented swimmer, made quite a splash at the just-concluded Khelo India Youth Games 2023 in Madhya Pradesh.
Vedaant won gold medals in 100m, 200m and 150m, besides silver in 400m and 800m to help Maharashtra top in boys’ swimming as well as overall championship in the Games.
Madhavan, who has featured in box-office hits like ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Guru’, ‘3 Idiots’, Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, shared a bunch of Vedaant’s photographs on social media.
Congratulating Maharashtra for the two team trophies, Madhavan wrote he was ‘blown by and very grateful and humbled by the performances and achievements of Apeksha Fernandes (6 gold, 1 silver, PB and records) and Vedaant.’
Madhavan’s fans, friends and colleagues from the film industry – like Shamita Shetty, Shilpa Shirodkar and Aahana Kumra — congratulated the father and son.
Madhavan has been Vedaant’s biggest cheerleader, always sharing the teenaged swimmer’s feats and achievements in domestic and international tournaments.
Madhavan’s last film was ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, which was written and directed by the actor himself.
