Mumbai: Actor Shreyas Talpade suffered a heart attack on Thursday evening after finishing Welcome to the Jungle shoot in Mumbai. He was then rushed Bellevue Hospital in Andheri West where he underwent angioplasty on Friday.
“Shreyas, 47, was shooting for ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ and in the evening he suffered a heart attack and underwent angioplasty. He is fine now,” source close to the actor was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The hospital too has confirmed that the angioplasty was conducted around 10 pm and shared that he is doing fine now.
The actor reportedly filmed through the day including minor action sequences. After completing the shoot, he went back home and told his wife that he was feeling uneasy. His wife rushed him to the hospital but he collapsed on the way, according to Entertainment Times.
An acclaimed actor in Hindi and Marathi cinema, Shreyas gained popularity with 2005 film ‘Iqbal’. He has been a part of several box-office hit films, including, Om Shanti Om, Golmaal Returns and Housefull 2, among others, and critically-praised films like Dor.
‘Welcome 3’, which is being directed by Ahmed Khan, is the third instalment of the hit franchise ‘Welcome’.
