Kandhamal: Actor Abhishek Giri and his Bengali co-star Shayan Mukherjee were injured when the car in which they were travelling skidded off the road at Srikala Ghat near G Udayagiri in Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the accident took place when they were returning in the car after a shoot of Odia movie ‘Adryusya’ with Giri at the wheels. Another person namely Sunil Patnaik was also travelling with them. It is being suspected that he lost control over the vehicle, which then dashed against the guard wall and overturned, due to fog and low visibility.
The injured actors were rescued by locals and admitted to a nearby health facility at G Udayagiri. They left for Bhubaneswar after primary treatment.
Meanwhile, G Udayagiri police have seized the vehicle and started a probe.
