Bhubaneswar: An actress has sought intervention of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) seeking action against her husband for allegedly torturing her.
Shweta Mohapatra, who has acted in several Odia albums, had filed a complaint at Mancheswar police station after she was attacked by four unidentified persons on March 25. She was four-month pregnant at the time.
She had alleged that her husband Birat Mohapatra had engaged hired goons to attack her as he was not happy with her second pregnancy. Though 5 months have passed since she filed the complaint, the police were yet to take any action against Birat, Shweta told media persons in Bhubaneswar.
She approached the DCP with her child on Friday and submitted an application seeking protection from her husband and necessary steps on her complaint filed with police.
