New Delhi: Bollywood actress and IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Juhi Chawla recently took to her Twitter handle to call out the Airports Authority of India (AAI) after being stranded at an airport for several hours.
According to Juhi’s Twitter post, after disembarking from the Dubai flight, she had to wait for nearly two hours at the airport’s health clearance queue along with the other passengers.
The actress shared a video of her experience on Twitter and wrote, “Request the Airport and Govt authorities to IMMEDIATELY deploy more officials and counters at the Airport Health clearance … all passengers stranded for hours after disembarking .. … flight after flight after flight …..Pathetic , shameful state ..!! @AAI_Official.”
The Twitter handle of AAI apologised and wrote back: “Dear Ma’am, We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Request you to please let us know which airport are you travelling from, so that we may escalate this issue at the earliest. Thank you, Team AAI @HardeepSPuri @MoCA_GoI.”
The 13th edition of IPL 2020 concluded on Tuesday with the final between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Kolkata Knight Riders couldn’t qualify for the playoffs.
Meanwhile, as a part of the new guidelines issued by the Union Government for international arrivals on Thursday, passengers need to submit a COVID-19 negative certificate from an RT-PCR test within 72 hours of undertaking the journey.
