New Delhi: Congress is determined not to let BJP off the hook on the Adani crisis.
The grand old party, which has been vocal in Parliament with other Opposition parties about the scathing Hindenburg report against Adani Group which pulled down share prices of its listed companies and net worth of Gautam Adani dramatically, will now take its protest to the streets.
On Monday, Congress will stage protests against the Adani issue in front of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) offices and State Bank of India (SBI) branches across the country.
In Delhi, protests will be held by NSUI-Youth Congress outside banks located at Parliament Street police station, while party MPs will protest near the Gandhi statue in Parliament, reported ANI.
“The govt is hell-bent on helping Modiji’s friends to loot public money. The Congress party has decided to hold a nationwide protest on 6th February 2023, in front of LIC & SBI offices. We also demand a JPC probe or a CJI-led enquiry in the humongous Adani scam,” Congress said on Sunday.
The Opposition has alleged that the rout in Adani Group shares is a scam that involves ‘common people’s money’ as public sector institutions LIC and SBI have invested in them.
The Centre has, however, assured investors that LIC and SBI’s investment in Adani companies are within limits.
