Adani Dhamra Port Flags Off Its First-Ever Steel Slab Rake

Dhamra: Adani Dhamra Port recently completed the unloading of steel slabs from the vessel M V HTK Neptune and swiftly loaded over 2,900 metric tonnes (133 slabs) into 45 BFNS wagons — all within the stipulated timeframe, setting a new benchmark.

The vessel brought in 35,000 metric tonnes of high-quality steel slabs, marking the port’s first-ever steel slab import. The cargo, belonging to Jindal Stainless Limited, was meant for its Kalinganagar plant.

To commemorate this milestone, a ceremonial event was held at the port, where Head of HR & IR Basuki Nath flagged off the steel slab-loaded train. Senior port officials, including Chinmay Dash, Head – Rail Operations, and Bibhudatta Ray, Head – Cargo Operations, along with other key leaders, were present.

“This accomplishment underscores Dhamra Port’s growing capabilities in diversified cargo handling and its vital role in strengthening India’s industrial logistics network,” a company release said.
