Puri: The Holy Trinity of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra entered Gundicha temple. Lord Jagannath reached the Adapa mandap around 9 pm.
The Adapa bije of the Trinity began around 5.30 pm and each one was taken in a goti pahandi by the servitors. The deities will stay at Gundicha temple for a week during their nine-day Rath Yatra festival.
Adap Abhada would be offered to the deities. Lakhs of devotees, who eagerly await the opportunity to savour Adap Abhada at the temple will miss it due to ban on visit of devotees due to COVID-19 restrictions.
At the Adapa Mandapa, the special Banakalagi ritual was performed by the servitors.
The Collector Samarth Verma said two more counters at bus stand and North gate will be opened from tomorrow to provide cooked prasad, Adapa Abhada. He, however, requested people not to crowd and opt for home delivery.
