Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided that the proposed Adarsh Gurukul in Odisha’s Puri town will start functioning from 2024 academic session.
The decision was taken at a special meeting of the Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee, presided by Puri king Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb on Monday.
As per the decision, tenders would be invited for construction of the Gurukul after performing the Bhumi Puja soon. The SJTA has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Birla Foundation in this regard.
The Gurukul will come up in an area of 32 acre of land. Besides the Academic Bhavan, which will house the school, the Gurukul will have ‘yajnasala’ (place for performing yajna), hostel for the students and a playground.
Chief Administrator of SJTA Vir Vikram Yadav, Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh, members of the management committee, members of the Birla Foundation and officials of the SJTA were present at the meeting.
