Additional Tehsildar Arrested For Duping Woman On Promise Of Marriage In Odisha

Rourkela: An Additional Tehsildar posted at Binika in Odisha’s Sonepur district has been arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman on the false promise of marriage.

The additional tehsildar, Rupak Kujur, was nabbed by Rajgangpur police on Saturday on the basis of a complaint lodged by the woman, who alleged that she had been in a relationship with him since 2008. Kujur had proposed to her when she was in CLass X and also established physical relations with her by promising marriage.

After getting a job, Kujur slowly distanced himself from her. She filed the complaint at Lanjiberna outpost after learning that Kujur married another woman in court.

“The complainant has accused him of having a physical relationship with her for the last several years by promising to marry her,” said Rajgangpur SDPO, Sashank Sekhar Beura.
