Bhubaneswar: Odisha was recently conferred with Best Performing State Award under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan.
Secretary, Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department, B Parmeshwaran received the award from President Droupadi Murmu at a national event organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
While Odisha was adjudged the Best Performing State in the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan category, Mayurbhanj was recognised as the Best Performing District under the same category. District collector Hema Kant Say received the award from President Droupadi Murmu.
Similarly, Keonjhar was awarded the certificate of appreciation as the Best Performing District under the Dharati Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan. Additionally, Additional District Welfare Officer, Koraput, Rakesh Ranjan Biswal was honoured as the Best State Master Trainer, and Sanjeev Majhi from Kalahandi district was felicitated as the Best Aadi Saathi.
The Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan was launched with the transformative vision of making every tribal village self-reliant. Special Gram Sabhas were recently organised across the state as a part of the initiative during which 5,500 village action plans were approved.

The state government remains committed to reinforcing participatory governance and ensuring development benefits reach every village and household across Odisha,” Deputy CM Pravati Parida posted on X.
