India’s Aditya was crowned champion in Men’s 55 kg category in the World U-19 Boxing Championships in Budva, Montenegro.
Aditya, the Asian U-19 silver medallist, fought back after narrowly losing the opening round to get the better of Russia’s Islam Magomedov 4-1 in the summit clash on Tuesday.
India had a chance to claim another gold but Megha Sheokand settled for silver after losing 0-5 to Russian Ekaterina Frolova in the Women’s 80 kg final.
India also claimed two bronze medals through Harshika (Women’s 65 kg) and Prachi Tokas (Women’s 80+kg).
