Bhubaneswar:  The Crime Branch of Odisha police, which is investigating the mysterious death of social activist Aditya Das, will conduct a crime simulation to ascertain the cause of death.

A senior Crime Branch officer, who is part of the investigating team, said that a dummy of Aditya Das will be kept on the tracks at Lingaraj Temple Road railway station here and a train will hit it.

After examining the injury marks on the dummy, the Crime Branch will be able to know whether the activist’s death was a suicide or he died due to collision, the officer said.

The crime simulation will be carried out in the presence of senior railway engineers, loco pilot and the doctors who had conducted the post-mortem.

Aditya was found dead on the railway tracks near the railway station on July 7. Speculation about whether he committed suicide or was murdered has been doing the rounds with his widow and close friends engaged in mudslinging.
