Aditya Dhar Played Candy Crush During Tense Scenes In ‘Dhurandhar’, Reveals ‘Jealous’ Madhavan

Mumbai: As the Ranveer Singh-starrer spy-thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ entered the Rs 500-crore club, actor R Madhavan revealed a behind-the-scene moment which made him jealous of director Aditya Dhar.

Opening up about the shooting of the film, Madhavan shared that the ‘Dhurandhar’ director used to play candy crush during the most tense scenes in the film, amid all the chaos around him.

Madhavan further revealed that floods, rain delays and logistical hurdles, nothing rattled Dhar as he dealt with crisis in the calmest way.

“The fearlessness of the man, the uniqueness of his storytelling, and his ability to commit to making this film like a monk, without being hassled at all, truly stood out,” Madhavan, who plays National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in the film, to

ld Puja Talwar.

Recalling the final day of shooting, when an important airplane sequence was being filmed amid multiple disruptions, Madhavan added, “We were delayed due to floods, rain and everything else, and I was expecting Aditya to be at least a little hassled, if not agitated.”

What left Madhavan amused and envious was when he asked Dhar if he had orchestrated the response of the crowd, the director was completely absorbed elsewhere.

“He was just sitting there on the chair, looking at the monitor and playing Candy Crush,” recalled Madhavan.

Admitting that he couldn’t figure out if Dhar was over-confident or simply immune to stress, the actor said, “I assumed either he was supremely confident about his film, so unbothered and calm, or he didn’t know the challenges in front of him. I was so jealous of him.”

Madhavan concluded that Dhar was immune to applauses, and didn’t seek validation, rather his focus was primarily on the monitor, trusting the process.

The film features Ranveer Singh, Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun in lead roles.

The sequel of the film is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.
