Mumbai: Bollywood actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab on Thursday moved the Bombay High Court against late Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan.
According to a report in India Today, the couple, in their plea filed by lawyer Prashant Patil, alleged that Rabia Khan is posting derogatory statements against them on various social media platforms.
Aditya and Zarina, parents of Sooraj Pancholi, have urged the court to stop Rabia from posting derogatory things about their family. Sooraj has been accused of abetment of alleged suicide by Jiah Khan.
The plea read as: “In spite of having knowledge of the ad-interim and interim order of this Court and despite having made a statement, the Contemnor (Rabia) has again started making such similar statements on various social media platforms including Twitter and YouTube wherein the Contemnor recently gave interviews despite an undertaking given before this Court.”
The Pancholis stated that after actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, Rabia started attacking them on social media.
The plea further claimed that Rabia has created a new Twitter account by the name of Fight4Jiah@jiahkhanJustice.
“The said Twitter account is followed by around 22000 followers. Tweets like – “Mumbai CBI managed by Accused fathers Political clout Bollywoodmafia who will never let ‘truth win’,” are posted on it,” stated the plea.
The petitioners pleaded that Rabia should be directed to withdraw the defamatory statements against them from various online platforms.
The plea is likely to be heard next week.
