Dhenkanal: The district administration on Tuesday declared a three-day shutdown in Bhuban NAC from Wednesday after more than 40 COVID-19 cases were detected from the locality.
District Collector Bhumesh Chandra Behera said the shut down will remain effective from August 5 to 8. There will be intensive contact tracing during the period.
He said out of 51 new positive cases reported from the district in the last 24 hours, five are local contacts.
Among 51 cases, 31 are from Bhuban NAC and 3 from Kamakhyanagar NAC and the remaining 17 are from four blocks in Bhuban (4), Kankadahad (7), Gondia (5) and Sadar Block (1).
With 186 recoveries, Dhenkanal district has 234 active cases.
