Bhubaneswar: Current advances and innovations in the fields of pediatric and preventive dentistry were discussed at the 42nd annual conference of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD) at the Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), SOA’s faculty of dental sciences, here.
The conference, organised off-line as well as on virtual mode, was attended by
around 2000 delegates from all over the country who listened to experts in the field
and exchanged views on the virtual platform.
Prof Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, vice-chancellor of SOA, was the chief guest
while Dr Dibyendu Mazumdar and Dr Sabyasachi Saha, president and secretary respectively of the Dental Council of India were the guests of honour at the inaugural programme of the three-day conference which concluded on Saturday.
Prof Jeffrey A Dean, professor of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics
at Indian University School of Dentistry at Indianapolis; Prof Vineet Dhar of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry; Prof Justin Jae Cheoun Lee of Seoul Children’s Dental Center and Prof Marcelo Bonecker of Pediatrict Dentistry at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil were among the experts.

Antaryamee Panigrahi, Dr Bismay Singh, Dr Jnana Ranjan Swain and Dr Priyanka
Kalimireddy also took part in the deliberations.
Office-bearers of ISPPD including president Dr G Dhanu, general secretary Dr Nikhil Srivastava, president elect Dr Mousumi Goswami and conference secretary Dr Gautam Kundu were also present.
