Bhubaneswar: With the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting dense fog at some places in Odisha, the office of Special Relief Commissioner here on Monday issued an advisory for seven districts.
According to the IMD, one or two places in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Gajapati, Ganjam, Malkangir and Koraput are likely to experience dense fog on Tuesday morning.
Police and transport officials have been advised to take necessary steps to control plying of vehicles on highways.
Notably, ‘very dense fog’ was reported in Koraput (visibility 30 metres) and Bolangir (visibility 40 m) districts on Monday morning. Balasore (50 m), Angul and Baripada (100 m), Keonjhar, Phulbani and Malkangiri (150 m) witnessed dense fog.
