Advisory For Indians In & Travelling To Lebanon As Israel Vows To Hit Hezbollah

New Delhi: Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, the Indian Embassy in Beirut on Monday issued an advisory, urging all Indian nationals in Lebanon and those planning to travel to the the war-torn country to exercise caution.

“In view of the recent developments in the region, all Indian nationals in Lebanon and those planning to travel to Lebanon are advised to exercise caution and remain in contact with Embassy of India in Beirut through their email id: cons.beirut@mea.gov.in or the emergency phone number +96176860128.”

This came a day after Israel’s security cabinet authorised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to decide on the “manner and timing” of a response to a rocket strike in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights that killed 12 teenagers and children. Israel and the United States have blamed on Lebanese armed group Hezbollah for the attack.

Hezbollah, however, has denied any role in the attack on Majdal Shams, the deadliest in Israel or Israeli-annexed territory since Palestinian militant group Hamas’ October 7 assault sparked the war in Gaza.

Meanwhile, an Israeli drone strike killed two people and wounded three more in southern Lebanon on Monday, Reuters reported quoting the Lebanese civil defence.
