After Attacking Wife With Sharp Weapon, Railway Official Jumps Before Moving Train In Odisha

Rourkela: A railway official was critically injured after he attempted to commit suicide by jumping before a moving train near Bandhamunda railway station in Sundargarh district on Wednesday.

The man, identified as Firu Badaik, lost a leg in the incident. He is currently undergoing treatment at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) here and his condition is stated to be critical.

A resident of Diesel Colony under Bondamunda police limits here, he had allegedly attacked his wife with a sharp weapon following an altercation on Tuesday night before taking the extreme step. The woman had sustained injuries in her head, face and ears in the attack and was later admitted to a hospital in Bondamunda area by her neighbours, sources said.

The railway police are investigation the matter.
