Mumbai: After being called out for nepotism following actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Bollywood’s elite filmmaker Karan Johar has unfollowed several accounts on Twitter.
A screenshot of Karan’s Twitter handle shows that at present, he is following only his four Dharma production houses and the accounts of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, besides Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Here’s a screenshot of Karan’s Twitter handle:
Soon after Sushant’s tragic demise, several celebrities took to social media to write their condolences for the actor.
Karan too shared a picture with Sushant and blamed himself for not being in touch with the actor for the past one year.
In no time, netizens started trolling Karan and Alia for making fun of Sushant in the chat show “Coffee with Karan,”
Many even called out against him for nepotism and hypocrisy as he only worked with star kids and not with outsiders.
After Sushant’s death, Karan had tweeted, “I blame myself for not being in touch with you for the past year….. I have felt at times like you may have needed people to share your life with…but somehow I never followed up on that feeling…will never make that mistake again…we live in very energetic and noisy but still very isolated times …some of us succumb to these silences and go within…we need to not just make relationships but also constantly nurture them.”
“Sushant’s unfortunate demise has been a huge wake-up call to me …to my level of compassion and to my ability to foster and protect my equations…..I hope this resonates with all of you as well….will miss your infectious smile and your bear hug,” he added.
