Eight persons have died of cholera in Rayagada.
Jeypore: A person died of suspected diarrhoea at Chikamba in Odisha’s Koraput district on Wednesday, according to media reports. Ten others, with diarrhoea symptoms, have been admitted to health centres.
Six villagers have been admitted to the Giriligumma Primary Health Centre (PHC), while four others are under treatment at the Community Health Centre (CHC).
The diarrhoea scare in Koraput comes even as the state government has scrambled to contain the outbreak of cholera in neighbouring Rayagada district. Eight persons have died of cholera in Rayagada’s Kashipur block while at least 100 others are undergoing treatment at different health facilities.
