Bhubaneswar: Soon after Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement, cricketer Suresh Raina too called it quits from international cricket.
Less than an hour after Dhoni’s announcement, Raina also took to his Instagram handle and wrote: “It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781. With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India. Jai Hind! (sic).”
Suresh Raina is an aggressive left-handed middle-order batsman and an occasional off-spin bowler. He is also considered to be one of the best fielders and is the second-youngest player to captain Team India.
He is the first Indian batsman to strike a century in all three formats of international cricket. Like Dhoni, Raina is expected to continue playing IPL for Chennai Super Kings.
