Bhubaneswar: After witnessing less than 100 caseload of COVID-19 for the last two days, the capital city registered a spike on Wednesday as 110 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the new patients, 33 were quarantine cases while 77 were local contacts. As many as 219 patients recovered from COVID-19 during the period.
Of the quarantine cases, 5 were detected in Old Twon and 3 in Badagada. Similarly, there were 5 cases each from Badagada and Patia while among the local contacts, there were 5 cases from Patia and 4 each from Bomikhal, Mancheswar, Nayapalli, Sahednagar and Sailashree Vihar.
After the latest count, the total positive cases in the city have gone up to 28,892. While 160 patients have succumbed to the disease, there are 1885 active cases at present.
