Pithoragarh: A day after tremors were felt across Delhi-NCR as a 3.1-magnitude earthquake occurred nine kilometres away from Haryana’s Faridabad, another earthquake of magnitude 4 on the Richter scale struck near Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand on Monday.
National Center for Seismology (NSC) has confirmed that an earthquake occurred at 9.11 am about 48km northeast of Pithoragarh and at a depth of 5 km.
Earlier an earthquake of magnitude 3.2 had hit Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand on October 5. The tremors were felt around 3.49 am, the NCS said.
On October 3, Delhi-NCR and several northern regions felt strong tremors after a series of earthquakes, the strongest being of magnitude 6.2, jolted Nepal in quick succession.
