Bhubaneswar: After organising a mock wedding of BJD and BJP to expose alleged close ‘’nexus’ between them in Odisha, Congress now plans hold ‘Annaprasana’ ceremony for their ‘children’ in Bhubaneswar.
The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has decided to organise the programme in the state capital on March 11.
Congress leaders alleged that Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) now have ‘children’ in the form of largescale corruption, multi-crore chit fund scam, mining scandal, exploitation of women, price rise and illegal liquor trade.
They further claimed that BJD and BJP are responsible for growing unemployment and have been showing undue favour to contractors from outside Odisha.
Notably, Congress had organised wedding ceremony for BJD and BJP in Bhubaneswar as well as Sambalpur a few days ago to expose their tacit understanding.
OPCC social media chief Amiya Pandav claimed that the two political parties are now on the verge of forging a formal alliance ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state.
Accusing the the two parties of having gifted misrule and scams as their children to the people of Odisha, he said Congress will, therefore, hold Annaprasana ceremony for these children.
The ceremony will be held at Congress state headquarters in Bhubaneswar here at 2 pm on March 11. The party will seek the help of a priest to perform the ritual and a feast will be organised on the occasion, he said.
