Bhubaneswar: Almost a month after his sudden exit from BMC top post, IAS officer Vijay Amrut Kulange has been appointed as Managing Director of Orissa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd (OMFED), Bhubaneswar.
“The post of Managing Director, OMFED, Bhubaneswar is declared equivalent in status and responsibility to the post of Joint Secretary provided in the IAS cadre of the state,” the official notification issued on March 16 said.
Kulange, a 2013-batch officer, had proceeded on a month-long leave on February 24 after a statement of his on hike in allowance of corporators, mayor and deputy mayor created a stir and prompted the civic body to issue a clarification. His reference to land record certificates (LRC), distributed to eligible beneficiaries under Jaga Mission, as ‘patta’ had also led BJP corporators to stage strong protest on the floor disrupting the corporation meeting on February 23.
Cooperation secretary Rajesh Pravakar Patil replaced him as commissioner of BMC.
