Mumbai: Vidya Balan and R. Balki are officially reuniting after 17 years.
The duo, who last collaborated on ‘Paa’, are coming together once again for a new Tamil film, marking their first project together in nearly two decades.
Vidya recently teased the beginning of the yet-to-be-titled film by sharing a behind-the-scenes glimpse on her Instagram Stories.
In the photo, the actress can be seen holding a script while wearing glasses and sporting a long braid, giving fans a glimpse of her look for the upcoming film.
Captioning the post, Vidya wrote, “New Beginnings #NewTamilFilm with #RBalki,” hinting that her latest collaboration with Balki is now underway.
While Vidya has not revealed details about the film’s plot, her post has already sparked curiosity around the upcoming project.
The Tamil film is among several projects in Vidya Balan’s upcoming lineup.
She will next be seen as Kantha in ‘Jailer 2’, alongside Rajinikanth. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 15, 2026.
Vidya is also set to share screen space with Akshay Kumar in Anees Bazmee’s upcoming comedy.
The untitled film, which also stars Raashii Khanna, has already completed a shooting schedule in Kerala and is slated for a theatrical release on December 4, 2026.
