New Delhi: Days after Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan flagged poor service of Tata Group-owned Air India, BJP national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill handed the national carrier ‘Oscar’ awards in the “worst airlines” category.
In a strongly worded post on X (formerly Twitter), Shergill expressed his frustration following a recent flight experience. “If there was an Oscar equivalent for WORST AIRLINES, Air India would win hands down in every category: > Broken Seats > Worst Staff >Pathetic “on Ground” Support Staff > Give two hoots attitude about customer service!” he said in a post made at 10.39pm.
“Flying Air India is not a pleasant experience but today (it) broke all records!” he added.
The airline responded nine hours later, saying, “Dear Mr Shergill. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Kindly share travel details with us via DM. We’ll get in touch with you.”
Earlier too when the Union Minister complained about being allotted a “broken and sunk” seat, an Air India spokesperson, in a statement, said that this does not reflect the standard of service that the airline strives to provide to its guests. “We are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.”
The DGCA also sought a report from the airline regarding the incident.
