Agni-3 Successfully Test-Fired Off Odisha Coast

Balasore: India conducted a successful test launch of Agni-3 intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) on Friday from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha.

Defence officials confirmed that the launch

validated all operational and technical parameters.

It was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command, the unit responsible for managing India’s nuclear arsenal and strategic deterrence capabilities.

The Agni-3 is a surface-to-surface, nuclear weapons-capable missile with a strike range of more than 3,000 km.

It forms a critical component of India’s layered missile programme, bolstering the country’s credible minimum deterrence posture.

The two-stage, solid-propellant missile is road-mobile, enhancing its survivability and operational flexibility. It is capable of carrying a payload weighing 1.5 tonnes.
