Bhubaneswar: A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between Milk Mantra Dairy Pvt Ltd and Radharani women self-help group (WSHG) of Bhubaneswar and Dibyajyoti WSHG of Rourkela on Friday at Krushi Bhawan in Bhubaneswar for marketing and sale of Millet Shakti products through Daily Moo, the online portal of Milk Mantra.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Joint Director of Agriculture (Odisha Millets Mission) Shailendra Mohanty.
According to the MOA, Bhubaneswar and Rourkela residents can place orders for the millet products through Daily Moo portal and the products will be delivered by Milk Mantra at their doorstep. Milk Mantra will also collect the products from the WSHGs and stock those in its godowns for delivery.
A sale of over Rs 60,000 has already been done through the portal in the trial phase. The Odisha Millets Mission is planning to include more products and cover more regions across Odisha in the programme keeping the high demand for Millet Shakti products.
“The department aims at enhancing the income of WSHGs which is important for making the millet-based enterprises financially sustainable in the long term,” a statement issued to press said.
