Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday caught a DDO-Cum-Assistant Director in-charge of Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare red-handed while accepting bribe here. The accused has been identified as Bijay Kumar Dash.
According to a vigilance official, Dhirendra Mallick, Driver of Directorate of Agriculture and Marketing had complained to vigilance officers in Bhubaneswar that Dash was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 for sanctioning his revised assured career progression (RACP).
The Vigilance officers laid a trap and nabbed Dash red-handed while accepting the bribe.
The bribe amount was recovered from Dash’s possession. Further investigation is underway, according to the vigilance official.
