Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the regional party’s 27th foundation day on December 26, BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday called upon the rank and file to engage themselves in serving the people.
Stressing that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has been dedicated to the service of people for the last 26 years, Naveen in a letter to all party leaders asked them to celebrate the occasion in a in a fitting manner.
Keeping in view the ideology and policies of Biju Babu, the BJD is working to take the state to greater heights, Naveen said in the letter.
Extending New Year wishes to the people, he said the BJD will reach out to everyone with its dedicated welfare activities in 2023.
The Chief Minister also called upon all party leaders and workers to rededicate themselves to the service of people on the occasion of the foundation day of the BJD.
Stating that people’s faith in the BJD has been proved by continuous victories in all elections and bypolls, he said that the party now has Zilla Parishad presidents in all 30 districts and won 80 per cent seats in urban local body (ULB) polls. “This has given us inspiration to carry forward our service to the people and get more closer to them,” he said.
The BJD was founded on December 26, 1997, and was named after its legendary leader Biju Patnaik, the father of Naveen.
