Ahmedabad: The Municipal Corporation of Ahmedabad has set up the country’s largest COVID-19 care facility near the Gujarat University Complex with 2,000 beds to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Having reported the highest 404 COVID-19 cases of the total 719 cases in Gujarat, the care centre has fully-furnished rooms with facilities for Yoga, indoor games, free wifi, music on demand, telephone and a library to keep the patient engaged during their treatment period.
“Each patient to be admitted at the care centre will be provided with a bed and a separate kit containing essential items like soap, a toothbrush and a bucket,” municipal commissioner, Vijay Nehra was quoted by media as saying.
In-line with fighting the novel coronavirus, Odisha is also creating facilities for the COVID-19 patients across the state.
With 60 coronavirus cases so far, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday said that COVID-19 hospitals will be set up in every district in a span of one week.

At present 20 such dedicated hospitals are already functional in the state.
Also, testing for coronavirus will begin at Burla’s Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in two days, the CM added.
The testing facilities are already available at RMRC, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, SCB Medical and Hospital in Cuttack, MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, IGH in Rourkela and Institute of Life Sciences in Bhubaneswar.
