Bhubaneswar: A female junior resident doctor of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, was found dead at her rent
ed accommodation in Dumduma area under Khandagiri police limits on Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Dr Divya V, a native of Karnataka.
According to police sources, Dr Divya did not report for duty on Tuesday. Her roommate, with whom she shared the rented house, returned in the evening and found the room locked. Repeated calls to her phone went unanswered, prompting the roommate to alert the police, who broke open the door and found her hanging from a ceiling fan.
An unnatural death case has been registered at Khandagiri police station, and investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to her death. The body has been sent for postmortem, which will be conducted in the presence of her family members arriving from Karnataka.
