Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Saturday arrested five persons on charges of collecting money from people visiting AIIMS, Bhubaneswar by impersonating AIIMS staff and assuring them to arrange early OPD tickets.
The accused persons have been identified as Pradipta Kumar Gouda (22), a resident of the Patrapada area; Prakash Nayak (22), a resident of a lane near DBR Guest House, AIIMS Road; Sidheswar Behera alias Govinda(21), a resident of Patrapada area; Manish Pattnaik (20), a resident of Lane no-8; Near smart city Guest House, AIIMS road and Bikram Keshari Mallick(29), a resident of Andhia village in Bhadrak district.
As per reports, IIC of the Khandagiri Police Station had received information from his reliable source that some persons were targeting innocent patients and their attendants to dupe them of their money.
Police said during the investigation common people also disclosed that these people identified themselves as staff of AIIMS and assured early tickets.
