Bhubaneswar: In order to provide better cardiac and hemodynamic management for critically ill patients, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Odisha capital organised a workshop of ABC echocardiography on Wednesday.
The workshop, organised by department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care of the AIIMS, was designed to promote the art and science of echocardiography in the daily practice of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists, said Dr Satyajeet Misra, head of the department and organising chairman of the workshop.
The second edition of the workshop was attended by delegates from various hospitals of Bhubaneswar like AMRI, SUM, KIIMS, and CARE and other parts of the state like MKCG Medical College at Berhampur and Hitech Hospital at Rourkela. Besides, experts from various national institutes from across the country also attended.
Medical Superintendent of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar Dr (Prof) Sachidananda Mohanty, Dean (Prof) Debashish Hota, organising secretary of the workshop Dr Soumya Sarkar and Dr Srikant Behera, Asst Professor, Dept of Medicine were present in the inaugural function.
National-level resource persons Dr Bhupesh Kumar from PGI Chandigarh, Dr Satyen Parida from JIPMER, Puducherry, Dr Subrat Singh from AIIMS, Raipur and Dr Bhushanam Padala from AIIMS, Bhopal also attended the workshop.
The delegates included both trainee doctors in Anesthesiology as well as practitioners of Cardiac Anesthesia, Intensive Care etc.
