Bhubaneswar: The All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar has been ranked as the second-best hospital among Category B hospitals in the country regarding cleanliness and hygiene practices.
This is the second time in a row that the institute has won the pan-India ranking by the “Week-Hansa Research Survey”. The assessment considered several parameters such as peer assessment and external assessment on hospital upkeep, sanitation and hygiene, waste management, infection control and other support services.
The survey rated AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, as the best among public and private hospitals in the state capital, best public hospital in Odisha and the third best in eastern India in both public and private categories.
The central government has awarded the hospital Rs 1 crore under “Kayakalpa Scheme” for this achievement.
Interestingly, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar has recorded the highest number of OPD patients among the 6 new AIIMS.
Apollo Hospitals, Bhubaneswar, also features in the top five best hospitals in the eastern zonal ranking with Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata, and IPGMER and SSKM Hospital, Hospital, occupying the first two slots.
