Bhubaneswar: The Department of Radiation Oncology at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar is going to install 2nd Dual Energy Linear Accelerator for cancer patients, which will cut waiting time and ensure higher quality of treatment.
At present, cancer patients are treated at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, with conformal radiotherapy.
During the COVID pandemic, the department ensured uninterrupted treatment for cancer patients without being shut for even a single day.
In 2021, the department treated more than 25,000 patients in the form of chemo, radiotherapy and pain and palliative therapy.
