AIIMS-Delhi Takes Over Treatment Of Odisha Girl With 75% Burn Injuries; Condition Still ‘Critical’

Girl with 75% burn injuries shifted to AIIMS-Delhi

New Delhi: The 15-year-old girl, fighting for life after being allegedly set ablaze by three miscreants in Odisha’s Puri district, was on Sunday shifted to AIIMS-Delhi for advanced treatment.

According to a medical bulletin issued by AIIMS-Delhi on Sunday evening, the girl remains in critical condition and is on oxygen support.

“The patient with 75% burns, was airlifted from AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and received at AIIMS-New Delhi at 4.20 pm. She is currently admitted to the Burn ICU in the Burns and Plastic Surgery Block. Her condition is critical, and she is on oxygen support. A team of doctors is closely monitoring her condition,” the bulletin stated.

A green corridor was created between AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and Biju Patnaik International Airport on Sunday afternoon before the teenager was transferred to Delhi in an air ambulance.

As no effort is spared to save her life, police investigation is underway to identify and nab the culprits. Odisha DGP YB Khurania visited the spot on Sunday and reviewed progress of the probe.
