AIIMS Withdraws User Fees For Lab Tests At All Centres Including Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday withdrew laboratory and investigation charges upto 300 at all its centres including Bhubaneswar.

In a circular, issued on the day, medical superintendent, AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr DK Sharma said the user fees for all laboratory procedures upto the amount have been abolished with immediate effect.

“The undersigned is directed to notify that president, AIIMS is pleased to approve abolition of user charges for all investigations/laboratory charges currently costing upto 300 per procedure in AIIMS hospital and all centres, with immediate effect,” the Hindustan Times quoted the circular as stating.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday released the findings of a third-party assessment of Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres in 18 states. The initiative was envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide affordable and accessible healthcare to the last mile, the minister said.
