Ailing Elephant Dies During Treatment In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: An ailing female elephant which was undergoing treatment died in a forest area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday.

The elephant, which was found sick while roaming the area over four days ago, was undergoing treatment near Digi Bhanra village under Bagha Ampuda beat house and Soro block in the district.

A veterinary team had kept the elephant under observation. An autopsy would be performed to ascertain the actual cause behind the elephant’s death, forest officials said

The jumbo was sick and had stopped taking adequate food. Unfortunately, the veterinary team found the animal dead in the morning when they arrived for its treatment, they said.
