Bhubaneswar: Veteran Ollywood actor Bijay Mohanty, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad, will return to Odisha soon.
Actor and BJP youth leader Akhila Kumar Patnaik informed the media that the actor had expressed a desire to return to Odisha and his daughter had requested him to arrange a vehicle for his journey back home.
Patnaik said that he then took up the matter with BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi. Following which, a special ambulance bus with ICU facility has been arranged by Bhubaneswar-based Aditya Care Hospital to bring back Mohanty and his family. They will be accompanied by a team of doctors to Bhubaneswar, where he will remain under treatment in a private hospital.
“Most probably, Mohanty will return in 2-3 days,” Patnaik said.
Stating that the return of Mohanty has almost been finalised, secretary of Odisha Cine Artists’ Association Sritam Das said he will meet the Bhubaneswar MP on Wednesday.
Mohanty, who was staying with his daughter in Hyderabad for the past few years, had undergone a minor surgery after he being afflicted with diabetes about 3-4 months ago. Though he recovered later, he complained of acute chest pain on May 25 and was admitted to the ICU of a private hospital in Hyderabad. During the test, he was diagnosed with a critical cardiac problem. However, his health has improved since then, said his wife Tandra Ray.
