Bhubaneswar: An AirAsia flight made an emergency landing at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar after being hit by a bird on Thursday.
As per reports, the Pune-bound aircraft took off from Bhubaneswar airport at scheduled time around 5 pm. Soon after, the aircraft had to return to the airport for emergency landing as it was hit by a bird.
On landing, the aircraft was checked by the ground and technical staff at the airport. After a thorough checking, they did not detect any major damages to the aircraft, the sources said.
Following clearance from the technical staff, the flight took off for Pune after nearly 2 hours.
It may be noted that an Air Asia flight had made emergency landing in Bhubaneswar airport due to medical emergency of a passenger on January 9.
