New Delhi: The IAF has announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to anyone who provides information about the location of the missing AN-32 aircraft.
Along with the cash reward, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal RD Mathur, on Saturday released phone numbers for sharing information relating to the aircraft — 0378-3222164, 9436499477, 9402077267 and 9402132477.
The announcement has been described as unprecedented by air force officers and it comes after all three forces failed to trace the missing aircraft despite massive search operation for last six days. Inclement weather has also hampered the search operation.
The Russian-origin aircraft with 13 people lost contact soon after taking from Jorhat in Assam at 12.27 pm on June 3 for the Mechuka Advanced Landing Ground.
Flight Lieutenant Sunit Mohanty from Ganjam of Odisha is among the four officers on board the missing transport aircraft.
