Air Force Staffer Arrested In Assam For Allegedly Spying For Pakistan



Jaipur/Assam: An employee at an Air Force station in Assam has been arrested on charges of allegedly spying for Pakistan and sharing vital defence information since 2023, officials said.

The accused, Sumit Kumar, was posted as a Mu

lti-Tasking Staff (MTS) at the Chabua Air Force Station in Assam. He was arrested by Rajasthan Intelligence and Air Force Intelligence agencies.

According to officials, the investigation began after the arrest of another suspect from Jaisalmer in 2026.

Investigators revealed that he had allegedly been in contact with Pakistani intelligence handlers since 2023 and was sharing confidential information.

Officials also stated that the accused allegedly used social media to communicate with the handlers. He was taken to Jaipur for further interrogation.

A case has been registered against him. Authorities said further probe is underway.
